"Hualong No. 1" is an advanced million-kilowatt-class pressurized water reactor nuclear power technology developed by China's two major nuclear power enterprises, China National Nuclear Corporation and China General Nuclear Power Group, on the basis of more than 30 years of experience in nuclear power research, design, manufacturing, construction and operation in China, and based on the feedback of Fukushima nuclear accident experience and the latest safety requirements of China and the world.
"Hualong No. 1" adopts a reactor core of 177 fuel assemblies, multiple redundant safety systems, a single reactor arrangement, and a double-layer containment vessel, comprehensively and balancedly implements the design principle of "defense in depth" and sets up perfect serious accident prevention and mitigation measures.
